Discrimination in Context: Examining Neighborhood-Level Variation in the Incidence and Adverse Effects of Perceived Racial and Ethnic Discrimination Among Chicago Youth
This publication is highlighting the reaseach done across 238 Chicago neighborhoods to examine the adverse youth outcomes (depressive symptoms, suicidal behavior, violent behavior, an substance abuse) associated with racial and ethnic discrimination at the neighborhood-level. The study sampled 1333 African American and Hispanic youth. The findings of this research have come to suggest that children of color experiencing discrimination is ubiquitous.
