Associate Director of the Center on Race and Social Problems, Ron Idoko, founded the Racial Equity Consciousness Institute (RECI) in 2021. RECIs mission is to provide individuals and communities with the tools to actively deconstruct racism and cultivate racial equity.
The film “Illuminating the Vaccine for Racism” highlights RECI’s approach to building the capacity and mindset of individuals and communities to deconstructing racism and cultivating racial equity. The film centers thoughtful reflections from the faculty, staff, and students who have participated in RECI. This film not only sheds light on the complexities of systemic racism but also highlights the power of community to cultivate consciousness toward racial equity.
